The Union Branch House of Representatives, Students Union Government University of Nigeria, Nsukka Campus, Hon. Ugwu Elijah have been suspended from Office for misappropriation of over 5.2 Million Naira This was made known in a sitting resolution which reads:
SUSPENSION OF THE SPEAKER OF BRANCE UNION HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES, UNIVERSITY OF
NIGERIA, NSUKKA CAMPUS.
The speaker of the Branch Union House of Representative has been charged with the following allegations which include:
1. Misappropriation of public funds (Totaling about N5.370,000) which amounts to damaging the image of the union, and that of the prestigious university community, contrary to section 10 (4) of the constitution of in the SUG 2016.
2. Abuse of constitutional power by violating court injunction (judicial judgment) contrary to section 10 (1) of the SUG constitution 2016.
3. Disregard for the House representatives and constitutional provisions by denying the House its minimum member
of sittings per session, contained in section 34(2) of the 2016 constitution of the SUG. 4. Total Neglect, disobedience and Disregard to the SUG constitution 2016, contrary to section 3(2) of the constitution.
The House in its official capacity considers the Above Activities as unconstitutional, inappropriate and Amounts to Gross Misconduct and as such has Suspended the said Honorable as proper Investigation will commence immediately.
The speaker of the Branch Union House of Representative Nsukka Campus Rt. Hon. Ugwu Elijah Stands Suspended as the Speaker of Branch Union House of Representatives, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Campus on grounds of Gross Misconduct and Abuse of Power, under Section 112 and Section 3(1&3) of the SUG Constitution, 2016.
Until Proven Innocent of this Allegations, the University Community should note that Rt. Hon. Ugwu Elijah shall no longer Parade himself as the SPEAKER of the Branch Union House of Representatives, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Campus, Henceforth.
Owing to the Resignation tendered by the Deputy Speaker. Hon. Aguenu Emmanuella, the House has also Appointed Rt. Hon. Osobie Martins to Act in the Capacity of the Speaker until the Investigations are Concluded.We are social! follow us on:
