University of ibadan bars non-first class students graduands from attending convocation ceremony

The management of the university of Ibadan has asked her graduating students who did not bag first class not to come for their convocation ceremony. This, they said, is in a bid to comply with the Federal Government’s COVID-19 compliance directives.

The university has announced that they will hold this year’s convocation and 73rd Founder’s Day ceremony from November 15 – 17, 2021.This was contained in a notice issued to graduands of the University.In the notice obtained by the media, they also revealed plans to bar non-first class Graduands from the convocation Ceremony.

The notice partly reads: “Attendance at the International Conference Centre is opened to First Class Honours graduands and recepients of prizes and awards only.

Parents and visitors are not allowed into the campus neither will there be any form of partying or social gathering during the period.”
