As part of the unanimous consensus reached in the joint sitting of the FANS National Executive Council and the Leadership of the FANS Senate, held in Enugu on 14th May, 2021, it was agreed that the association will, undertake a School-to-School Evaluation Tour by the month of July.
This was in line with the firm promise of assistance to help in providing some immediate pressing needs of the schools already made by a leader of thought and philanthropist per excellence in Enugu North Zone, Rt. Hon. Dr. Patrick Asadu, honorable member representing Nsukka/Igbo-Eze-South Federal Constituency.
It was in view of these that on Wednesday 7th July, 2021, a five motorcade team of the members and leaders of the FANS NATIONWIDE set out for the tour, beginning with government secondary schools within Nsukka Local Government Area.
It was an outing to remember as the students and staff of every of the schools visited welcomed the FANS TEAM in good fate and expressed their goodwills to Hon. Asadu who have promised to provide for their needs after this tour.
For instance, the Senior Prefect of Community Secondary School, Nru, by name Master Olenyi Daniel while expressing his gratitude says, “…thank you the leaders of Nsukka students in Nigeria for visiting our school today. Also, thanks in a special way to Hon. Pat Asadu who you said is willing to sponsor this. Please tell him that we shall be praying for more of God’s blessing upon him…”
While the team got to Community Secondary School, Isienu, the principal, Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Ike, highlighted some challenges which included, outdated and insufficient library stalk, pitiable condition of the hostel block, incomplete fencing of the school landmass which exposses them to miscreants through the nearby Isienu hills, non functionality of the school borehole, among others. She as well expressed her profound gratitude un behalf of the school for the individual who have promised to do something.
The tour which was tagged “BE THE VOICE AND NOT THE ECHO”, also featured encouragement speeches to the students on the need to desist from truancy and take their studies seriously.
The touring continues this week and in the coming weeks. It is intended to go round the secondary schools within.
