Just Now: NASU, SSANU Extends Strike Action Once Again

The Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have Extended their Strike to One Month (4weeks) once again after their initial 1 Month Strike. In a circular jointly signed by the national president of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim, and the general secretary, Peters Adeyemi, the unions noted that the decision to extend the strike was to give more time for all demands to be met. According to a report Uramah Media got, NASU & SSANU Complained that only 2 of their demands out of 5 demands have been met by the federal government.

SSANU, NASU Praise Ngige’s Efforts At Resolving Strike

THE Joint Action Committee, JAC, comprising the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational Institutions, NASU, yesterday commended the efforts of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige towards resolving their indefinite strikes. Speaking at the resumption of talks between the JAC of the Unions and the Federal Government, the General Secretary of NASU, Comrade Peters Adeyemi thanked Ngige for his efforts which have started yielding the desired result. Adeyemi recalled that Ngige had in the past made efforts to bring their employer to the negotiation table, but to no avail.

NASU, SSANU Extends Warning Strike By One Month Once Again

The Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, has again extended its 14-day warning strike in Nigerian universities by one month. “Continue With The Warning Strike For 2 More Weeks” – NASU, SSANU Extend Warning Strike

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Education and Associated Institutions have extended their warning strike by two weeks. The non-academic workers had commenced a two-week warning strike on March 27 over the inability of the Federal Government to meet their demands.
