#EndSARS: Police Ban Street Protests In Lagos State

The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced that it will not allow any street protest in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest. The Command also denied that it has granted approval for any street protest in whatever form to hold tomorrow in commemoration of the #EndSARS movement. According to a statement on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, only indoor and virtual events are permitted to hold in commemoration of the #EndSARS protest. BREAKING: Gunmen Abduct Military General In Lagos

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Air Vice Marshal Sikiru Smith (retd.), in the Ajah area of Lagos State. Reports says that the abducted general is a cousin to a former Inspector-General of Police and current Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Musiliu Smith. Sikiru Smith is currently the Chairman of Double Wealth Ventures Limited – a dredging and engineering firm. It was gathered that the retired military officer was supervising work on a site in the Ajah area of Lagos State on Monday when masked gunmen invaded the place and shot sporadically. Lagos state govt shuts two schools over COVID-19 scare

Two private schools in the Lekki area of Lagos, Lagoon Girls’ Secondary School and Standard Bearer School have been shut down over the COVID-19 scare. The schools were shut down following a visit by officials from the Office of Education Quality Assurance, Lagos Ministry of Education. A source said; “From what I gathered, I do not think it was our office that discovered the schools.“The schools reported themselves. I could not speak with the team lead that went there to give me the vivid picture of what happened when they got there."
