INEC suspends voter registration in Bauchi

The Independent National Electoral Commission has suspended the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise in Bauchi State. This is contained in a statement by the INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Alhaji Adamu Gujungu, on Monday in Bauchi. Gujungu said that the temporary suspension of the exercise would take effect from Sept. 21, to facilitate the display of preliminary voters register. INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu made this known on Wednesday during a one-day public hearing on the National Electoral Offences Commission (Establishment) Bill 2021, organised by the Senate Committee on INEC. I NEC trains heads of electoral operations on PUs expansion

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday commenced training on its heads of electoral operations across the 36states and the FCT on the methods for the expansion of polling units (PUs) INEC national commissioner,prof Okechukwu Ibeanu said that the two days workshop in Abuja was to build the capacity of officers on the proposed conversion of voting points to PUs across the country.
