A 100 level Physiology student of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Uli, Anambra State, simply identified as Kenneth committed suicide at the Kosi lodge today, October 13. According to reports, the deceased reportedly set himself ablaze at the back of the hostel building before he was found by his lodge mates. It was also gathered that prior to the incident, the deceased had allegedly told his cousin that he wanted to give up the ghost the previous day due to stress. COOU Students Protest Against Poor Welfare, Tuition, Others(See Photos)
Students of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli campus (COOU), staged a peaceful protest, demanding better welfare and reduction of exorbitant tuition charges. According to the students who carried cardboards bearing various inscriptions, despite paying N130,000 as school fees, they haven't had light since 2014, coupled with the deplorable state of roads on the university campus. The students decried the policy of being made to pay full tuition fees to resit a course, and further accused the university management of interfering in the SUG electoral process, thereby, imposing unqualified candidates as representatives.
