The Students’ Union government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra state has written to the institution’s Rector, warning him about the institution’s exorbitant textbook costs.

“ We are not a tool for money extortion,” wrote Federal Polytechnic Oko SUG to the Rector in response to lecturers’ exorbitant textbook charges.

The Rector was asked in a letter signed by the SUG president to cease all book sales while the institution establishes a consolidated and more reliable book pricing policy.

Above is a photo that has the SUG’S letter by the left and by the right is the list of first semester textbooks for all departments of sciences that amounts to 65,000 naira.
