The Nigerian President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) has returned back to the country after a two weeks absence for Medical check up.
The news of his return was made public by the Presidency on Twitter@NGRPresident at exactly 6:02pm yesterday’s evening. The presidency #NGRPresident tweeted “president @MBuhari is back in Abuja after a private trip to United Kingdom” , with some photographs of the president as he alights from the presidential jet amidst salutations by the defense chief.
Recall that the President’s trip to the United Kingdom had since sparked up controversies and protests by Nigerians, the arrow Head of which was the former aide to the former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri.
The protest which was hashtagged #HarassBuhariOutifLondon and majorly carried out in London at the Abuja House premisses, was initiated and spearheaded by the activist and famous critic of the president, Reno Omokri. And was taggeted at ensuring the president returned home from his London aboard where it was supposed he went for medical check-up, and fix the state house hospital so as to enable him make use of it.
However, it was later reported amidst the protest that the president did not actually leave the country for medical reasons, rather to observe a rest. This however did not stop the #HarassBuhariOutofLondon as the protesters and Reno Omokri bitterly criticized the president for wanting to have a rest in outside his country when there is apparently unrest all over the nation. They insisted that he must return home to fix the problems mounting up there if at all he most have a good rest.
Haven said all this and protested, what is the next action for the government and Nigerians at large now that the president is finally home? Will he hunt his supposed enemies or will he actually fix the problems in the country, just like he was asked to do , by the #HarassBuhariOutofLondon protesters?
